The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service , popularly known as KUCCPS, has announced that the online application system for placement of students to universities, public TVET colleges and TTCs is now open, from May 17, 2023 to June 7, 2023.  

1. Minimum Placement requirements :

  1. Degree programmes
    • Mean Grade of C+ (plus) of 46 Points and above
    • Open ONLY to the KCSE examination class of 2022 
    • Have never been placed by KUCCPS
  2. Diploma programmes
    • Mean Grade of a C-
    • Form Four Leavers who sat the KCSE examination between the years 2000 and 2022 
    • Have never been placed by KUCCPS
  3. Craft / Certificate courses
    1. Mean grade of a D plain
    2. Form Four Leavers who sat the KCSE examination between the years 2000 and 2022
    3. Have never been placed by KUCCPS
  4. Artisan courses
    1. Mean Grade of an E
    2. Form Four Leavers who sat the KCSE examination between the years 2000 and 2022
    3. Have never been placed by KUCCPS
2. Govt Funding

Government scholarship and HELB loan will be available for students placed to :
  • Degree programmes in Public Universities.
  • TVET Programmes  in Ministry of Education
In addition, students placed to private universities will be eligible for HELB loan only.

Other highlights :

3. All the 2022 KCSE candidates who applied for courses at school MUST revise their choices. In addition, those who did not apply at school are required to submit their application within the period.

4.Form Four Leavers who sat for KCSE between the years 2000 and 2022 and scored C (plain) and above are eligible to apply for placement to Primary Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs).

5. Application to Primary TTCs is also open to Kenyans who have done other courses but wish to train to become teachers, those with foreign qualifications and non-Kenyan citizens.

6. The revision/application exercise will be done online by all applicants including those who had submitted their applications through their respective schools, and would wish to revise their choices. There will be NO manual application.

7. The application procedure and other relevant guiding information may be accessed through the Placement Service website www.kuccps.ac.ke.

8. Application to Primary TTCs is also open to Kenyans who have done other courses but wish to train to become teachers, those with foreign qualifications and non-Kenyan citizens.

9. As a safeguard against fraud and extortion, the Placement Service wishes to caution the public to avoid online forums that claim to offer placement advice and career guidance to KCSE candidates seeking to join universities and colleges at a fee. KUCCPS does not collect money through such forums.
